WHAT IS BUNNY LINES TREATMENT?
When the nose is wrinkled, fine lines will often appear on either side. These are affectionately known as bunny lines. Frequent movement of the muscles in this area can lead to these lines becoming permanent, as a person gets older.
Treating this concern requires the use of injectable botulinum toxin (a product commonly known as BOTOX). When muscle contractions are relaxed, the skin and tissues move less and facial creases cease to exist.
THE TREATMENT PROCESS
Your particular concern will be examined during a pre-treatment consultation, and your practitioner will talk to you about the type of result you should expect.
You may wish to have a numbing cream applied to the treatment area to minimise any potential discomfort, and this will need to take place 20 – 30 minutes before the treatment. A number of injections will then be administered on each side of the nose, directly into the muscle.
AFTERCARE AND RESULTS
The treatment will usually take effect instantly, and a smoother look to the skin on the nose will emerge. This can create a calmer appearance to the upper face, and the reduction of wrinkles will also give a more youthful perception.
Botulinum toxin injections will need some careful attention, following the treatment. Your practitioner will usually advise that hot temperatures are avoided (including baths / showers, tanning beds, saunas and prolonged sun exposure), as well as rubbing the nose and high levels of activity.
